It has affected my internet as I'm now on dreaded wi-fi which is free to me, but not efficient. First, part of the issues with my son, brought on with changes from the move has changed my typical free time. I'll get to those shortly, but before that I need to be clear on where I stand with Run8. Though he does still have interest in other RTS projects. Run8 is somthing that he has little to no interest in. What this often means is if I do any programming, it should follow something that he is interested in doing. Most of our leisure time is in front of a computer as he can't be comfortable outside of the house. Of course he has been my 1 priority, and with it quite a bit of my attention and time. My son is currently recovering from a month long set of pulled muscles and strained neck brought on likely from a cough from the bronchitis he is starting to get over. It is safe to say at this point that it's highly unlikely, that an RTS session or server will be taking place in the immediate or perhaps distant future.įor those looking for a good Run8 session or server, I highly recommend to check out both. Those simulators are doing just fine without Run8, and Run8Depot is going to continue to do fine regardless of my opinions. Crossties was probably the closest thing that could of been a threat, and a bunch of people on a forum who jumped that ship sunk with them in my opinion.Įither that they clinged onto Run8Depot's life raft and was welcomed aboard if they would behave themselves and not say anything bad about Run8 I swear I'm not trying to say anything bad about any other simulator or even Run8Depot. OR is volunteer and a work in progress, thats awesome they have their niche but they aren't stealing ideas from Run8. Their bugs if any that's left now are absolutely minor to the crap we put up with for years of MSTS. I've never once been told that anything I posted or shown scared them away from Run8. How come I'm one of it's strongest advertising wings on my YouTube channel? But if I'm supposed to be a loyal customer which I still am. My message is directly against a FB comment that has not been followed up in any public forum that I belong to since. I'm also not here to bash other sims or those who enjoy them. I have AI and a loyal enough following to keep me happy. I was taken off of a list, but I assure you that is not why I'm concerned. But at the very least the RTS Wikia remained active and never went down. Perhaps it was me not having an active server, and trying to get it back up. When I first went on YouTube saying I was not pleased with the direction things started changing. So If I'm over in the Run8 section preaching to the choir what I must say again this message is as much as praise as it is being critical. I did look at Open Rails but never found use for it, I'm sure it's improved but it is not Run8 imho as competition.
No offense to those that like TSW but I feel sorry for you if you trying to fight off the masses in there haha. Now I don't bother with that TSW section because it's just a constant moaning of how crappy everyone knows it is. Someone pointed me out to a new sim so I took a look, but then stopped bothering for my own personal reasons. When I visit TrainSim I don't even check out the general section these days.
